Q. Is Effins Pub & Grill a college bar?
A. In the sense that it’s located in the SDSU area, yes, from a geographic standpoint it’s a college bar. However, it’s also very much a neighborhood bar, attracting patrons who live in the area but aren’t associated with the university.

Q. Can I enter the bar if I’m not 21 years old?
A. Yes, if you visit before 9 p.m., which is when we start carding. We never serve alcoholic beverages to underage patrons.

A. It was established in 1996. The current owner took over in 2005.
